Steve has demonstrated an enduring commitment to building strong and healthy communities via his work in the nonprofit sector. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Paws Place where he specializes in governance protocols and nonprofit best practices as well as serving as the chair of the fundraising committee. Over the past 15 years Steve has also given back by serving in the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC), working with the National Coalition for the Homeless, and volunteering in various capacities for dozens of nonprofits. His years of experience have left him with a deep understanding of multiculturalism, social justice issues, and stakeholder engagement. Steve has also founded several community service organizations where he mastered the fine art of volunteer management.
Although originally from Buffalo, NY Steve has called Wilmington his home since 2004. Since then Steve has demonstrated a constant commitment to professional development and the expansion of his skill set. To that end he recently earned a graduate degree in Public Administration (MPA) with a concentration in Nonprofit Management from UNCW. He also holds a graduate degree in liberal studies (MALS) and is currently enrolled in a graduate Community Preparedness and Disaster Management certificate program at UNC Chapel Hill.
When not working or volunteering Steve likes to go camping with his family, friends and 3 boisterous dogs. Steve is ecstatic to begin what he refers to as his “dream job” as the Executive Director for NourishNC.
Starting the week of July 27 Steve will join forces with the community of New Hanover County to feed hungry students through NourishNC.  We know you will enjoy getting to know and serving along with him!
